Hello all,
I can't believe we are at the end!!! I have enjoyed having all of you in my class.
I just want to give you hints for unit 9 project:
1. Use citations - chapter 11 is very important for this project. I want to see that you relate your unit 8 analysis to what can cause certain diseases. Look carefully at each question, look at the material in the book and see if you have risk factors.
I really look for critical reflection on your diet. Do not say, "I need to eat healthier or I will develop....".- we all know you need to eat healthier and what does that show me you learned. You need to go beyond what you know about your diet and look at the chart from your analysis and do some solid thinking about it. Show me that you learned new information. Not information you have been told, or knew in your job- then the purpose of the course was not met.
You need to go beyond what you knew and analyze new information.
I know you all can do it.
You must have citations.
You must have references.
You can use other sources as long as they are good sources.
I look forward to reading your analysis and see what you learned!!!!!
You can take risk analysis tests at several web sites, like the American Heart Association, etc. and put that information into the project.
Good luck and best wishes for your future!
Fondly,
Dr. Kathy

'Lifeless' prions capable of evolutionary change and adaptation
Here is an interesting research study about prions and how they found that they mutate. Thought it might interest you as we just talked about them in relation to Mad Cow Disease.
Regards,
Dr. Kathy
